A estas palabras se les llama verbos modales se utilizan de la misma forma con todas las personas y siempre van seguidos de un verbo en forma base.
These words are called modal verbs are used in the same way all people and are always followed by a verb in base form.

Cuando utilizamos Can podemos hablar de capacidad. Las preguntas y los negativos no utilizan el do auxiliar.

we use can to talk about ability. Questions and negatives do not use the auxiliary do.
